Microsoft Teams Report - Teams Adoption

Overview

Microsoft 365 provides out of the box reporting for viewing Microsoft Teams usage information for end-users for the last 7, 30 or 90 days. This summarized data provides information to identify general usage trends, however it doesn’t provide the granularity required to determine user adoption behavior based on activities such as running a seminar or a training session.

The Voleer Microsoft Teams Adoption template extracts data from Microsoft Teams, coupled with Azure AD user information into a persistent Voleer datastore enabling reporting based on daily Microsoft Teams activity, enabling organizations to develop and track the success of their adoption strategies.

How it works

This template extracts daily end-user Microsoft Teams usage statistics (private and channel messages, 1:1 calls and meeting, device usage) together with Azure AD user information into the Microsoft Teams Activity dataset and in combination with a pre-built Power BI dashboard, provides adoption insights on a daily scale for

  • Users and groups of users

  • Users based on job role, department, and location

  • Average usage statistics across job roles and departments

  • Top and bottom 10 usage statistics

To use this report, you will need to

Getting started

To start using this template, perform the following:

  1. Sign in to your Voleer account or sign up for a new account

  2. Find and click on the tile labelled Microsoft Teams Report - Teams Adoption template from the list of templates within the library

  3. Select a workspace from the dropdown, a compatible Dataset and then click on Launch

    Note - If there are no compatible datasets there will be a link to create one.

  4. Provide a name for the dashboard, and optionally, a description, then click on Continue. The dashboard will be made available within a few minutes!
